Auction Bumps

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a list of auction bump sites that are up to date as of July 15, 2011 where you can advertise your ebay listings for free! Its easy to do! Just copy and paste the item number to one of your listings in the place provided.

I’m going to share a tip with you.  What I do is open 2 windows, one with the pages to my items and one with the bump sites open in separate tabs.  This makes it easier and saves on time.

Making a Chart with Tables

Have you ever wanted to make an html table for your ebay auctions?

For instance, I wanted to be able to create a table or chart to put in measurements for the clothing items I sell. Here is an example of what you can do with this program I found. This was for a clothing lot I had listed on ebay.  To be honest this was a lot of work...I may not do clothing lots again..they are too much work for the money you get. Although I may need to work on this a bit, as far as what items I put together and work on key words, so I'm not really saying I won't do them again.

Here is another example.  This one is a basic table for one item.. You can change the colors, text, etc. I really love this program, you can also use it for your blog too!

The program I am talking about is isdntek.com. You can give it a try yourself by going here. Let me know if you try it and how it worked out for you. If you have any questions, ask me I may be able to help. Til' next time!

Clothing Lot update!

Well I did better this time on the clothing lots I had up, well a little. One didn't go for very high at all, to be honest, I was rather disappointed. But the other one did do better.  So, I'm thinking that maybe next time I will have a few up at the same time with the same size. Thats what I had before and one person was bidding on both...the person won one which didn't go for much and lost on the other one ( she got a heck of a deal!)...so thats why I got more on the second one. So my strategy will be to have two up at the same time of the same size clothing and if one doesn't go for much maybe I'll make up the difference in the other. We'll see how it goes. It will take me some time to get a few together, but I'll post them here when I do. Until then...take care!

Update Clothing lot

O.k. So it didn't go over so well :( . The lot I had up didn't sell for much. See my previous post. Well, I am not giving up! I had fun putting this together and I will try again. I did do my research to see how others are doing this, so maybe I will get better at it as I go along. So...here are a couple of other ones pictured below, we'll see how they do.  You can click on the pictures they are linked to the listings.

I listed both of these in two different categories.
The categories I listed these in were:
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Clothing > Mixed Items & Lots
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Clothing > Juniors > Mixed Juniors Items

If you have any questions or have any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment. :)
Wish me success!

Clothing Lot

I am selling off some of my daughters clothing items on eBay in a LOT.  Not sure how that will go... we will see!
I started the auction at 9.99 and have 16 items.  I have a lot more to list, but want to see how this goes first.  I will let you know if its worth the effort.  It took awhile to put it together. Here are a few items that are part of the lot.  If you'd like to check out the listing to see how I did it you can find it here.

This is the gallery photo that I put together in Picasa using the collage feature.  I love to use that feature for my gallery pictures.  I will let you know how the auction went in a latter post once it is over.  Until then Have a great week!

Photo Editing Part 2

Hi everyone! Sorry for the long delay! The last post I made was on photo editing. I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to write another post until now.  The last post made was here in case you want to go back and see.
What I wanted to share with you today is about settings on your camera.  I have a Sony Cyber Shot, it is nothing fancy! I had to read up on how to use the settings on my camera.  The ones that I have found to be most useful to me in what I'm doing are the EV settings.  As I was writing this post I decided to see if I could find a way to explain this to you.  Well...I found a site that does a much better job than me.  So... I am going to share this link with you and you can go to TableTop Studio and see what I'm talking about.  They even have an interactive demonstration.  Cool!

One other thing that I adjust is my light setting. On my camera it has a place to set it to fluorescent, incandescent, Daylight, Night time etc. All these things helped me to achieve my desired results. It did take me awhile playing around with them, but I finally did learn.

Picasa FREE Photo Editing

logo Picasa

I have had a lot of people ask me how I edit my photos.  Well today I’m going to give away my secret! I use Picasa. Picasa is a FREE photo editing software that is installed on your computer and you can use it anytime.  That is mostly what I use.  I sometimes use another tool that I did buy called Bling It!  I mainly use this one to take out the backgrounds of photos if I think they would look better. You can try Bling It out for a 15 day trial. That is not all there is to my photo taking, you’ll have to come back for part 2.  Follow me with Googles friend connect to stay updated, I will be sure to follow you back!

Have a lovely day!

HOW TO MAKE A GRAB MY BUTTON BOX

How to make a GRAB MY BUTTON Box.

ebay tips

I want to show you how to make a GRAB IT BUTTON Box.  It may seem like a daunting task, but I will take you step by step.  First of all I'm going to assume you already have a button.  If you don't, you can use Paint, PhotoShop or any other photo editing program. The normal size for these are 125 x 125.

STEP ONE: You will need to have a PHOTO hosting account to store your button graphic/picture.  The one I use is PHOTOBUCKET  You are going to need the URL address of the stored button picture. Below is a picture to show you what I'm talking about.

STEP TWO: Log into your blogger account.  Then go to the design page.

Once you're there click add a gadget, then another box will appear and you will choose the option HTML/JavaScript. Then another box will appear that looks like this:

The code you will paste will look like the code below but with your links. You will need to take mine out and copy and paste yours in...if you want you can practice by going here or here. So...copy and paste the code below either in notepad or the html practice board.

<div align="center"> <a href="http://carolinaclosetonebay.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img alt="ebay tips" src="http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm87/myvintagelady/grabitbuttonccc2.jpg"/></a> </div> <div align="center"> <form><textarea rows="5" cols="15"><center><a href="http://carolinaclosetonebay.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img alt="ebay tips" src="http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm87/myvintagelady/grabitbuttonccc2.jpg"/></a></center></textarea></form> </div>

Below I highlighted my blog address and photo address, replace your address links in those areas. Pay attention and make sure you don't leave out the quotation marks ( " ) The HTML needs to stay exactly the same.
Once you have pasted the code, click save and preview your work.  I hope I have explained this well, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Sew Retro!

Sew Retro

The other day I went to visit a couple of friends of mine for lunch, which was very yummy by the way.  We had homemade chili, corn muffins and an awesome salad! And for dessert we had homemade strawberry shortcake…I knew I must be in strawberry heaven! It was the best I have ever had!

While we were eating one of my friends jumped up and said “OH, I have something I want you to see”.  She showed me this book called Sew Retro which she had recently bought.  I thumbed through it and was inspired to get myself a copy.  In the mean time she let me borrow it until mine comes in.  I can’t wait to get it! It looks like some simple patterns that is easy for most anyone to follow.  Also there are some interesting history facts that was quite interesting to me too!  If this sounds like something up your alley you should check it out too by going here! Enjoy!

Vintage and Designer Dresses

This week I have a few dresses up for auction on ebay.  Below are just a few. You can visit my earlier post to see the rest.

Vintage 70s periwinkle and black with a tiny floral print.  It has an elastic waist. This would look cute with a wide black belt and some black pumps. It would also be cute to shorten it and make it into a mini dress. The pics are clickable by the way.11

The dress below is by Donna Ricco.  It is a beautiful and sexy piece! One of my favs, too bad it doesn't fit me. This would be a great dress for any evening event.

This is a vintage 70s Hippie BOHO style dress. I love the draw string neck and sleeves.  This too would make a great mini dress!

This dress is from the 60s! It is a very nice quality and very handsome.  A great dress to wear to the office. It is made by Henry Lee.

Tan Vintage Day dress 2

Hope you enjoyed!

What Do You Call Them?

Sweaters or Jumpers?

I was doing some research on some sweaters the other day and I noticed on ebay that in some of the listing titles on what we call sweaters in the US are also called Jumpers in other countries.  I asked the question on Facebook what their thoughts were on this subject. I had one of my friends from Australia respond by saying that they call them jumpers there, not sweaters.  I learn something new everyday!

The two sweaters above are on PINK HILL VINTAGE!

If you know another country that calls sweaters – jumpers, please let me know by leaving a comment below.  Thank you! Have a great week!
